A Tapestry for the Soul:
The Introduction to the Zohar by Rabbi Yehudah Lev Ashlag.
Explained using excerpts collated from his other writings

including suggestions for inner work.
Compiled by Yedidah Cohen

The soul’s journey is a tapestry made of many threads. Beginning with the basic question, “ What am I” we discover the threads that make up our very being. We learn to choose which ones we need to follow and which we prefer to set aside as we fulfill the greatest potential we have….  The true purpose of our lives.

The Introduction to the Zohar opens with questions which are both personal and universal and then gradually unfolds before us the purpose and the process of creation. Rabbi Ashlag’s teaching is challenging, demanding from us a new way of seeing our relationship with the Creator and with each other. The Kabbalah was never meant to be an intellectual study only, but a vehicle for growth. Forming the innermost aspect of Judaism, the Kabbalah relates directly to the innermost aspect of ourselves, the soul, showing us how we are part of the intricate fabric of being.

Rabbi Ashlag’s works, as a whole, form one large tapestry, incredible in its beauty. By collating relevant excerpts taken from Rabbi Ashlag’s many works and placing them, as required, in the context of the Introduction to the Zohar, Yedidah Cohen has created in A Tapestry for the Soul a book that enables Rabbi Yehudah Lev Ashlag to teach his own work. No barrier now stands between the teacher and the reader. This is straightforward authentic Kabbalah.

“Yedidah Cohen has performed a wonderful service in making available to an English-speaking audience this Introduction to the Zohar by one of the modern masters of Jewish mysticism, the late Rabbi Yehudah Lev Ashlag. Read it and it will help open your eyes to the infinite radiance that fills the world and the seeking soul. A life-changing work.” — Sir Jonathan Sacks, Chief Rabbi of the United Hebrew Congregation of Great Britain and the Commonwealth

"I felt as if Rabbi Ashlag was in the room with me"
